Personality:
Teddy Lupin is one of the youngest teachers in Hogwarts history. He has a propensity for humor and mischief, and he loves surprising his friends and students. Teddy is also a klutz. His feet never seem to be in communication with his brain, leaving him bumping into doors and tripping over his own shoes. At the same time, Teddy is quite eloquent and straightforward in his speech. He embraces his lack coordination as a part of who he is and is rarely at a loss for words. Teddy is a jokester, but he doesn’t take his relationships with levity. He is fiercely devoted to the people he loves and, though he’s not one to gush, he will be vocal with his feelings. He is also rooted in his beliefs and opinions. Teddy feels deeply connected to the parents he never knew. He lives life vigorously, craving to make their sacrifice worthwhile. He is firm about his stance on werewolf rights, and subsequently the rights of other magical beings. He is also staunchly opposed to the Dark Arts and any dabbling therein.
Teddy loves music. He is a massive Weird Sisters fan and eagerly awaits their reunion tour. He also keeps up with more recent wizard bands, and occasionally muggle music. Teddy is also a lover of books. Raised by his witch grandmother, there wasn’t a television or computer in his household, so he instead turned to the collection of battered books left behind by his father. He most enjoys adventure novels and books on magical theory. Teddy is a skilled wizard, a natural at Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts. He’s rubbish at Herbology though, and completely useless when it comes to Potions. He follows Quidditch, his favorite team Puddlemere United – though among Weasleys he has been known to cheer on the Chudley Cannons. During the school year, he can be seen from the pitch in the Gryffindor stands, sporting bright red and gold hair.
As a teacher, Teddy tends to create polarizing reactions from his students. He conducts his classroom with a carefree air and is always joking with his classes. He tries to make his lesson plans engaging and challenging. Teddy’s less traditional take on education strikes some students as imprudent, though, and combined with his klutziness, some of them find it hard to take him seriously. Others, though, find his techniques inspired and find themselves actually enjoying the rather difficult subject. Either way, Teddy is inarguably a gifted and involved teacher.

General History:
Teddy was born in the turbulent times of the Second Wizarding War. He doesn’t remember them, but Remus and Nymphadora Lupin would have given anything to keep him safe. In the end, they gave their lives in the Battle of Hogwarts. Teddy was taken to his grandmother’s house. She was widowed by the war, and both found a needed family in each other. Teddy was also raised in part by his godfather, Harry Potter. Harry became both a fatherly and brotherly figure to Teddy. His first signs of magic came shortly after his birth, when his Metamorphmagus abilities became apparent in his colorful hair.
Growing up, Teddy was very close to the Potter-Weasley clan. Harry told him stories about his parents; how brave they were, what a great teacher Remus had been, the tricks his mother used to do. He also told Teddy about Fenrir Greyback, the werewolf Dark Wizard who had turned his father. Teddy was around seven when he was finally caught. The image of his snarling face in the Daily Prophet became nightmare fodder for a lifetime. And yet, hearing about the prejudice his father faced as a werewolf made Teddy furious.
Once he got to Hogwarts, Teddy was sorted into Gryffindor. In his first few years, he was a nightmare for teachers. His association to the famous Potters sparked attention across the school, and Teddy ate it up. The pranks were weekly, aided by his friends, his unusual powers of disguise, and an unusual map given to him by his godfather. (He later passed the Marauder’s Map onto James Potter II.) In his fourth year, though, he joined the Quidditch team as a Beater and became more involved in his schoolwork. He rose to the top of his class in Transfiguration, gaining the attention of Headmistress McGonagall. She took a special interest in Teddy, taking him under her wing and giving him private lessons in advanced Transfiguration. She refused to give him a straightforward reason as to why, though he suspected it had to do with his father being her former colleague. Eventually, the Headmistress admitted that the current Transfiguration teacher would be leaving soon after Teddy graduated, and she had yet to find a suitable successor – until now. Originally, Teddy had plans of being an Auror. He felt he owed it to his late mother and father to hunt the kind of witches and wizards who murdered them. The dream fell through when he received a Troll on his Potions OWL. When this new dream presented itself, though, Teddy embraced it. After seventh year, Teddy returned to Hogwarts to act as teaching assistant and take over the position of Transfiguration Professor halfway through the 2017-2018 schoolyear. In the beginning he was a wreck, and trying to teach a class only a year younger than him proved more difficult than he’d anticipated. Once he settled into a style of self-effacing comedy, though, he figured out how to hold his audience.
