Mary was the only magical member in her family tree; therefore Catherine is a halfblood, although she doesn’t reveal this information to most people. In Catherine’s third year at Hogwarts her mother died in a house fire and the remaining family moved back to Britain.
Besides for the loss of her mother and moving several times, Catherine hasn’t experienced a lot of hardships or trauma. Her father works at the ministry of magic with his brother, although Catherine doesn’t know what department. She has extended family but she isn’t very close to them.
