Personality: Lysander has always been especially good at first impressions. He flashes a winning smile, and makes excellent small talk. He’s very good at engaging people to a certain extent. He is a very private person, so when conversations start to get deeper, he freezes up. For this reason, he isn’t very close with anyone in Hogwarts, except maybe his brother. Sure, he has friends and a great circle of people he hangs out with, but even to them he’s still a bit of a mystery. Sometimes he’ll crack, but not frequently or enough.
Lysander is a model student. He earned his place in Ravenclaw, turning out consistently excellent grades and dedication to each subject, some of which are more difficult than others. Both parents being naturalists, Lysander finds it very easy to work with magical creatures, and care of is his favorite class at Hogwarts. His teachers think that he would make an amazing dragon tamer, and he agrees with them. His sights are set on that career path. Wand work, however, has never been his great strength. For that reason, charms and defense against the dark arts have always been his more difficult subjects, and though he doesn’t do as well in them as in others, he still tries very hard and pulls a decent grade.
Lysander, though usually calm, collected, and quiet in exterior, can be a pretty nervous person. He has a horrible fear of heights, and dislikes flying or even being on the edge of a tower (he picked the four-poster away from the window in his dorm for this reason). He developed a bad habit to keep his general restlessness at ease, and often smokes cigarettes in bathrooms or outdoors during his free time.
Lysander has only had one relationship while he was at Hogwarts, and it didn’t last very long. It ended because Lysander just couldn’t connect with the girl in question. He made a decent effort, much more than he usually did, but to his disappointment, it just wasn’t the right girl. Since then, Lysander has been even more shut off, deciding that relationships really weren’t worth his time or worry. He enjoys bouncing around parties and sometimes dabbles with girls, but only for the night.

General History: Lysander Scamander, though a twin, was born a full ten minutes before his brother, Lorcan. Not that he cares very much. He and his brother always got along swimmingly, and were playmates in their youth. Their parents were never really in one place too long, as they moved for their careers. Rolf and Luna, naturalists, partnered up when they got married, working on projects together while they raised their twin sons. These projects caused them to travel all over the world, and the boys never really had a static home that they could call so. Instead, home was wherever their parents were, as family was valued very highly in the Scamander household. Because of all this moving around, the boys didn’t make many friends when they were younger, as they moved almost as soon as they made them. They found friendship in each other.
When they came of school age, Luna knew she wanted her sons to attend Hogwarts. As they had no permanent residence, no school would be contacting them. A simple letter to Hogwarts fixed that, and the boys were accepted straight away. Both were sorted into Ravenclaw, just like their mother, and they quickly made their own way in the school, by making friends and settling into their classes. In his fifth year, Lysander was made a prefect, and this seventh year, he was promoted to the high honor of Head Boy, meaning that he now lives on the fifth floor in the close quarters of the Head Girl and other prefects.
