In reality, Cassie had no real reason to be at the gala. She had no friends to group up with, no date to twirl her around on the dance floor, and no person of interest she could watch from a far while dreaming of the day that she was holding his hand. She was only at the ball for her dad; promising him to have one father-daughter dance. That was the only reason and that had been one of the first things she did when she arrived. Neville was off doing professor duties now and Cassie was left to find her own entertainment. So far that had not been so great. She had found some snacks to carry around and made her way out to the gardens, her natural habitat.
It was actually very beautiful outside. There were roses and the trees were starting to turn orange and red. How could any one hate nature if they actually took a moment to look at it? Then be explained why everything was changing colours. It was so wonderful, the smallest amount of life was just amazing Cassie. Much more amazing and enjoyable than the Gala. Eventually she was off to the outskirts of the garden and away from all the couples surrounding her. She was freezing cold and wished she had brought a jacket from her dorm. Either way it was too late now, she found a nice patch of grass that was still alive and took a seat there. She fell back, placing her hands beneath her head and looked up at the stars.
Maybe someone would join her out there, someone who was decent at Astronomy and could point out the constellations. That would be lovely. With such a clear night, it was perfect for star gazing. And just a bit away from food and music. Hell, even someone to drag her away from this entire place would be nice. Although, knowing her luck that wouldn't happen and she would have to settle for someone to come and talk to her.

Post by MAYCEE ANNIKA WHITBY on Jun 4, 2012 15:07:59 GMT -5
Maycee was regretting coming to the gala. She had come to hang out with Mckenna and Ramsey, but eventually felt the need for a cigarette, which meant leaving the two to dance for themselves, which was okay with her. She loved the two, but knew that they had a thing for each other, and she'd almost been feeling thirdwheelish, which was not a feeling that Maycee enjoyed. So she excused herself after awkwardly standing around for all of ten minutes, and made her way to the very outskirts of the gardens, where she thought she wouldn't have ever been interrupted.
Mace took a cigarette out from the small purse she had on her, and quickly lit it up. She was standing behind a tree, and relief flooded her with the first puff she took. It was getting colder out here though, she hadn't actually planned on being out that long. Her dress was quite warm on one side, but her left arm was completely exposed to the elements. She was almost done with her cigarette when she heard someone else coming out to where she was. She quickly stomped out her cigarettes, figuring it was Mckenna. But you could never be too sure, and it could have been someone who would rat her out.
She stepped out from behind her tree. "Oh, it's just you Cassie," she said, pulling out another cigarette and lighting it up. "Want one?" she asked, holding her lit cigarette out for her.
