No one had asked Rose to the Gala. If she believed Hugo was capable for pulling it off, Rose might have thought he intimidated any boy who wanted to ask her out. But Hugo was far from being a threat to anyone. Well, unless it was to himself. So Rose had narrowed down a list of boys that she might want to bring to the Gala. It wasn't a very long list, but it just so happened her top pick happened to walk by her at that time. Scorpius Malfoy. Yeah, his leg was busted up badly (in part due to his own stubbornness, Rose thought), so he couldn't dance. But Rose barely danced at balls anyway. She just liked being around people, drinking and having fun.
She'd gone up to Scorp, asked him if he wanted to go to the Gala. She promised him there would be no dancing. She doubted he had wanted to go to the Gala in the first place. But he had agreed. Rose didn't mind that she needed to ask someone out. She did not have any qualms about asking a boy out. Why did she have to wait for someone to ask her out? She wanted to go with him and she took action on it. Of course, Rose didn't think Hugo would like it very much if he found out. Which was why Rose had led Scorpius around the Great Hall and into the Gardens. Along the way, she'd taken some of the treats the school had provided and gotten some bottles of Firewhiskey from a Slytherin who was provided it.
They were now sitting on a bench a distance away from the exit. Rose had taken to producing a floating ball of light so that they didn't have to squint to see each other. Besides, with Scorp looking like he did, she wanted to look at him. Who didn't? She popped a piece of candy into her mouth, chewing on it. “Want some, Scorp?” Rose asked, holding out a similar piece. Maybe they should just get drunk and snog. That was her backup plan if things were going horribly. Surely he had some snogging skills?
364 words, scorose ftw, wearing this, she's doubting his kissing skills. haha.
