That was a good sigh. Arabella liked it when the beds were empty. That meant there were no students who were so sick that they couldn't attend lessons. It also meant that if there were, she'd healed them well enough so that they need not stay here. She would never say it out loud, but she took offense when people wanted to be sent to St Mungo's. It was as if she wasn't good enough so they needed real medical people. Perhaps she should get a letter of referral from St Mungo's, since she used to work there, and then frame it up.
With a flick of her wand, Arabella tidied up the beds and headed back to her main office, the one where students usually came in if they were feeling ill. There was a small girl standing in her office, looking very pale. “Hello. What's your name?” Arabella asked, walking towards her. “Kelly Gates...” She whispered out, before falling down. Ara let out a yelp, before catching the blonde in her arms. Fainting was never a good sign. Lucky for Ara, the girl wasn't too heavy. She carried her to one of the just made hospital beds and looked her over. Kelly Gates. Ravenclaw, by the looks of her uniform.
Ara liked to use non magical methods to figure out what was wrong. The girl had clammy skin, was sweating and had a fever. Her abdomen was slightly swollen and with a spell to confirm it, Kelly had stomach flu. Sending a quick note off to Kelly's Head of House who would then inform whoever she wanted to, Arabella began rummaging through her potion store. She found the potion, fed it to Kelly when she awoke and gave her some fluids. The potion would take an hour or so to take effect, which was why there was a drowsy effect to it. After that, she'd have to take a spoonful of it every hour until she was completely cured. Arabella pulled up a chair by the bed, intending to be by the girl's side when she awoke.

TELL ME THAT YOU'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT && Y O U R B I R D C A N S I N G BUT YOU DON'T GET ME, YOU DON'T GET ME Christopher James Gates was at work, like he was every day. He had dropped Alexis, his seven year old sister, off at a muggle elementary school on his way in. Now that summer was over, Kelly and Joe were back at school, life was easier. During the summer, Aunt Nicole spent her days watching the three young children when summer school wasn’t in session. CJ worked in Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, dragon office. He helped train dragons, breed them and CJ organized dragon transport teams. It was dangerous work, but he loved it.
It was close to the end of the day when CJ got his note. It had arrived on his desk around two, but CJ had been out of the office. He didn’t receive it until close to four.
Mr. Christopher Gates, As the legal guardian of Kelly Emmalin Gates, first year, we must inform you that Kelly came into Hospital this afternoon with the stomach flu. She is rest now, and our Healer is sure that she will recover fully. If you’d like to come see her, please use Floo Network Gate “Hogwarts, Hospital Wing”.
Sincerely, Head of House, Ravenclaw [/Blockquote] CJ had left work, picked up Lexi, and floo’d to Hogwarts. The gate was in a small alcove of the hospital wing, it had hooks to hang cloaks and brushes to clean oneself. CJ grasped the seven years olds’ hand, and rushed into the main area. He spotted a woman, she was leaning over a bed. A bed with a young girl in it. The young girl was Kelly, his sister. The older woman was giving her something, maybe a potion. "Excuse me, I'm CJ Gates, Kelly's brother. Is she going to be okay?"

Being the Healer had its peak periods, but there was lots of down time as well. She usually was with her son when she didn’t have much to do. But Titus was with her mother now and Ara was pleased to have a little time to herself. Now, she loved her son and would do anything for him, but there were times that Arabella needed to rejuvenate herself so that she could find the energy to deal with her hyperactive son. Who needed exercise when she was running after him all the time?
When the hour was up, Kelly began to stir and ask questions. Well, she wanted to know where her brother was. Arabella had no clue but told her that he was on his way. She hoped he was on his way. She didn’t want to lie to her. But, Kelly needed to take her potion. Arabella coaxed her to open her mouth and fed her the potion. The blonde watched the younger girl lie back down on her bed, eyes slowly closing once more. She screwed the top back onto the potion bottle, before hearing footsteps entering the hospital wing.
Ah, family. Sometimes they were reasonable, other times they made the usually reserved Arabella want to smack them. She turned to look over at the man and an even younger girl. The man was quite attractive and Arabella could say that she hadn’t thought a man was good looking ever since her husband passed away. Standing up and smiling at him, Ara spoke. “Hello Mr Gates. I’m Arabella, the school Healer. Kelly here is going to be just fine. I’ve given her a Potion that she has to take every hourly for the next three hours. She needs to take in lots of fluids in the following days, but otherwise, she’ll be fine. Nothing too serious.” Arabella nodded her head. She didn’t bother telling him not to worry because she knew that she’d be worrying if her son even got a small cut on his hand.

TELL ME THAT YOU'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT && Y O U R B I R D C A N S I N G BUT YOU DON'T GET ME, YOU DON'T GET ME "Are you sure? I'm sorry, I don't mean to doubt you, Ma'am, but this is my baby sister." CJ handed his youngest sister a book and gently pushed her to the chair. The seven year old sat on the chair across the hallway and began to read. "Do you think I should bring her home? Kelly hates being sick, she's going to want her doggy." CJ tried to think where the stuffed dog was. It was probably in Kelly and Lexi's room, Kelly had claimed she was a big girl. According to the first year, big girls don't take stuffed dogs to school. CJ thought to the last time he was so worried. It was probably when Kelly left for school. The young girl didn't handle their parents death well, and she hated change. CJ waited for panicky owls for weeks, but nothing ever came. CJ only wished he had been able to adapt as easily as Kelly seemed to. He still slept with one eye open, expecting to hear an owl at his window. A letters from Kelly, begging to be brought home. "Excuse me, ma'am, but is there anyway we could get my brother down here. I'd like to check on him while I'm here." CJ sat down at the chair by Kelly's bed. Placing his palm, he felt her clammy forehead. Pushing the blonde hair from her face, he smiled softly. Both of his sisters looked their mum, where as CJ and his brother looked like Dad. But what CJ was asking was nothing she hadn’t heard before from a distraught parent. “I am sure, Mr Gates.” Arabella said, giving him a small smile. “I assure you, this is nothing serious. She just needs plenty of rest tonight and she’ll be as good as new tomorrow.” The blonde said. When he made a request, Arabella decided that this man needed a little more than her assurances. “I can’t give permission for you to bring her home, Mr Gates. That’s up to the Headmaster.” Ara told him. But the Headmaster would ask for her opinion and her opinion was that Kelly didn’t need to go home. And if everyone went home due to a little sickness, there would be students coming in and out of the school every single day.
Arabella glanced at the youngest girl, making sure she was still there. There was something about children going missing when you took your eye off them for a single second. Ara didn’t think the man could take it if his youngest sister disappeared while his other sister was sick. “Erm, sure…” Arabella said. She summoned a piece of parchment and quill from her office. Scribbling down another note to the Head of Ravenclaw, Ara sent it off. “You are a very concerned brother, Mr Gates.” Arabella said, watching him. “I have a son myself. I can understand the want to protect them from every single bad and evil thing that is out there.” The blonde told him. “But illnesses make them stronger, despite giving them pain and hurt. Imagine, Kelly will be up and running tomorrow and probably telling you that she beat the evil stomach flu.” She smiled slightly at the man.
