POP THAT LOCK IF YOU'VE GOT THE KEY [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] Lucy sat outside Honeydukes, sucking on a lollipop. Beside her were a pile of treats that she had gotten from Honeydukes. She was staring intently at the shop opposite Honeydukes, a dress shop. There was a ball coming up. Well, a gala, which just meant it was a reason for her to buy more dresses. Except if she went into the shop, she'd buy half a dozen dresses. Not that she wouldn't wear it. She didn't have money. She wouldn't have money for the rest of the month if she bought half a dozen dresses. And Lucy still wanted to buy other stuff during the next Hogsmeade weekend. Maybe she could borrow from Molly...
She crossed her legs, wondering just how long more her friends were going to be. They could never make up their mind and Luce had excused herself. She didn't want to be in the crowded shop anymore than she needed to be. So she sat here and looked at girls going into the shop. She was going to get her mother to send her a dress, one that she had already decided on. A simple gold belt around her waist and her outfit was complete. But she still wanted to buy dresses. Retail therapy to shoo the stress away.
The redhead had several essays due next week, she was studying for a test and she was kind of worried about Molly and how she was dealing with the emotional trauma she was going through. But she was sitting here, eating sweets and ignoring every one of that. A day of relaxation before she stressed herself again. That, and she was wondering if she should go to this gala alone, without a date. She could ask Sterling along, she supposed. Lucy sighed silently, glancing at the shop window once more.

WE LOST OURSELVES IN THE BRIGHT LIGHTS Being back at school a sixth year, it was easy to start reminiscing about when she’d first gotten to school. It was all so overwhelming that she could barely focus on her classes. There were so many people. It sounded silly, but the variety of people that she met at Hogwarts was astounding. Before she came to school, she’d only been exposed to a certain kind of people- and not on purpose. Most of her time was spent with her family, sometimes with family friends. She went to elementary school, but those friendships and relationships were very surface-level. People at Hogwarts were interesting, different, unique. She felt she fit that mold very well. She was, even now, a horrible student. She just couldn’t dedicate herself. Sure, all the stuff she was learning was interesting, and she gave a minimal effort to things that struck her fancy, but she just couldn’t keep herself still enough to study. Roxanne just couldn’t find a good enough reason to apply herself. Instead, she busied herself with her friends, and learning more about herself, trying out different hobbies and past times. That’s sort of how she met her group of friends. Actually, she met most people through commentating for Quidditch, conducting post-game interviews and so forth. Still, the Quidditch scene was riddled with Weasleys and Potters left and right. It was ridiculous! Roxanne’s romantic relationships weren’t exactly the talk of the school, so she wasn’t worried about embarrassment. Roxanne was more worried that she would never really find someone to share herself and her thoughts with…like that, you know? It wasn’t a pressing issue, but she thought about it from time to time. She hadn’t even been kissed yet! Usually, by the time someone was sixteen, they at least had their first kiss! Thankfully no one had asked her to recount a story of that sort. She wasn’t quite sure what she would do in that situation. Roxanne was anything but a liar. Hogsmeade weekends were an excellent distraction from school life, and Roxanne liked to take advantage of them to get away from everything that was going on at the school. Currently, she was in complete distress over trying to find a gate for the Autumn Gala. Really, she wanted to be asked. She’d prefer to go with someone who wanted to go with her rather than a handful of her girlfriends. She’d happily go stag, but there was just something exciting about going with a boy that she wanted to experience. Walking out the door to Honeydukes, Roxanne tried to squeeze all that worry out of her mind, and instead focused on what she was going to put in the letter that accompanied the newly purchased candy for Dom. She didn’t have long to think, though. A head of flaming hair equivalent to hers was sitting right outside the shop. “Lucy!” Roxanne said, grinning. She hadn’t seen her cousin, and been able to talk to her really, since the start of term. She sat down right next to her, and immediately inquired as to her well being. “How’ve you been? Haven’t seen you since the farewell picnic at the Burrow.”

POP THAT LOCK IF YOU'VE GOT THE KEY [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] Lucy wasn't alone for long. It wasn't her friends who joined her, but her cousins. Hell, she wouldn't be surprised if her friends just walked right by her. One would think her red hair was enough to get all the attention. Apparently not. Well, if one redhead couldn't get the attention, two surely could. Roxanne joined her on the bench and started asking about her. Lucy smiled back at her cousin, who was the same age as her. Some times Lucy wondered if they might be closer if they were in the same house. They'd share all their classes and have probably the same group of friends.
“Could be better.” Lucy said, shrugging. “Essays, tests, and drunken boys trying to pick me up.” The redhead told Roxanne, smiling slightly at the last one as she thought of Graham. He was handsome, that much she was sure of. Everything else? She wasn't. Graham, perhaps Lucy should just ask him if he wanted to go to the dance together. But she wondered if she would hear the end of that if she took the initiative. “Tell me something I don't know has happened to you over the past month we've been here at Hogwarts. Boys? I would love to hear about boys. Spill. Now.” Luce said, before letting out a small laugh.
Of course, she didn't expect not to have the question returned back to her. When it came back, she'd answer accordingly. Her love life was rather dull at the moment. She had a feeling her father would be pleased to hear that. Not too pleased to hear about Molly's love life though. Luce hadn't exactly told her father about it, because Merlin knew he was going to go bonkers. There was nothing that Lucy could do about her own love life.
