I know it's a dorky kind of thread, and not particular to all sites, but I've always found it helpful for those who want to thread and don't really want to bother others by way of PM or making a statement of it in the Chat, where it can be lost extremely fast.
And it allows people who do want to thread see others who want to, as well, giving them a chance to also branch out with characters/writers they may not have otherwise thought to venture into a thread with.
Just a suggestion ^.^
