The crackle of the common room fire was smoothing. The room was practically empty besides for the small crowd of first years huddling in the corner. He remembered his first year, everyone seemed nervous and unsure but Xander was at home. His first year had been when he had met Roxanne, one of his closest friends. He was a little disappointed when he and his twin brother were sorted into the same house, they had shared a room his entire life and now they’d have to share classes, a dorm and maybe even friends. Sometimes Xander was close to his twin but other times they were bitter enemies.
At least he had his own identity from both of his brothers at Hogwarts; he had a popular reputation and a good group of friends. The only people he was really close to in Hogwarts, even with his large group of friends, were Roxanne and his older brother, Jesse. His book was open, but he wasn’t reading. Xander was lost in thought, which didn’t happen very often. For once he wasn’t surrounded by usual posse, he was alone and semi-vulnerable. He drummed his Quill against the pages of the book, his boredom increasing. He wasn’t ready to sleep, but he didn’t want to leave the tower either.
He hoped that Roxanne would find him; he wouldn’t mind talking to her right now. Roxanne was different than most of the girls he had feelings for at Hogwarts, and one of the only girls Xander had yet to pull a move on. He wanted to but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. If she would reject him, he didn’t know what he would do. In the meantime he stayed in the friend zone, watching as Roxanne dated other guys. He was bitter, but he knew he didn’t have any claim to her. tag: Roxander!

WE LOST OURSELVES IN THE BRIGHT LIGHTS Being back at school a sixth year, it was easy to start reminiscing about when she’d first gotten to school. It was all so overwhelming that she could barely focus on her classes. There were so many people. It sounded silly, but the variety of people that she met at Hogwarts was astounding. Before she came to school, she’d only been exposed to a certain kind of people- and not on purpose. Most of her time was spent with her family, sometimes with family friends. She went to elementary school, but those friendships and relationships were very surface-level. People at Hogwarts were interesting, different, unique. She felt she fit that mold very well. She was, even now, a horrible student. She just couldn’t dedicate herself. Sure, all the stuff she was learning was interesting, and she gave a minimal effort to things that struck her fancy, but she just couldn’t keep herself still enough to study. Roxanne just couldn’t find a good enough reason to apply herself. Instead, she busied herself with her friends, and learning more about herself, trying out different hobbies and past times. That’s sort of how she met her group of friends. Actually, she met most people through commentating for Quidditch, conducting post-game interviews and so forth. Xander was a different story though. The pair had always been friends, and she loved him for it. But there was that twinge of a letdown that she felt with every boy friend of hers- she was in the friend-zone, and she’d be stuck there forever. Roxanne’s romantic relationships weren’t exactly the talk of the school, so she wasn’t worried about embarrassment. Roxanne was more worried that she would never really find someone to share herself and her thoughts with…like that, you know? It wasn’t a pressing issue, but she thought about it from time to time. She hadn’t even been kissed yet! Usually, by the time someone was sixteen, they at least had their first kiss! Thankfully no one had asked her to recount a story of that sort. She wasn’t quite sure what she would do in that situation. Roxanne was anything but a liar. Hopping down the stairs of the Gryffindor girls’ dormitory, Roxanne put these thoughts out of her mind, hoping to grab a book that she’d forgotten downstairs and then head back up to bed. It was getting late, and the fire in the common room was dying down. She saw a small huddle of first years, busying themselves with homework or reading- is that what they were doing? But then she noticed Xander, and a wide smile broke out across her face. “Xands!” she plopped down in the chair next to him. They hadn’t really had a chance to catch up (besides the usual after-summer small talk), so this was the perfect opportunity. “Fancy you being up this late.”TAGS: Xander Creevey WORDS: 476 OUTFIT: CLICK!
