Couldn't take this town much longer Now I'm ready to be free The library was about the last place Logan felt like being. At all. The books all had a musty, old odor that made him want to throw up each time he went there. In all five years of his time at Hogwarts, he’d been in there about three or four times each year. He could generally find some pretty young girl to find books for him, if he even bothered with finding books at all. In his eyes, if you’re that good looking, you don’t need books.
Unfortunately, he’d gotten a howler that morning at breakfast, and his mother had found out about his muggle studies grade. As if he even cared. But she’d threatened to not let him go anywhere for the Christmas holidays, and there was no way he was staying home for that. He had better things to do, and a good amount of friends and girls he could do much better things with. Especially if his sister wasn’t going to be at the house either. Forget that.
So he figured he’d make a quick in and out. Simple, he knew where the books were, he just had never actually gotten them. He saw the librarian fiddling around with a stack of books, but just walked on past, ignoring her and not giving her the chance to offer him any help. Like he needed it from any old bat wasting her life amongst the disgusting folds of the library. He was much too good for that.
He scanned the library, looking for life there. There wasn’t much. It was right after dinner. Most people were still hanging out in the great hall or had adjourned to their common rooms, no doubt his kind of people planning a party he would rather be at or talking about their classes. Some people at Hogwarts just needed to get their priorities straight. He’d almost missed the only other person in the library, burried behind a pile of books. Pathetic.
He could see the red hair, no doubt a Weasley relative. It was obvious in Hogwarts who was who. He ventured closer, just to see that it was Lily Potter. He chuckled, pulling out the other chair to the table, and put his feet up. “Well, well, well. If it isn’t Baby Potter. Got nothing better to do that waste your life in this smelly old place?” he said, wrinkling his nose.

is it worth it? Can you even hear me? Lily was sitting in the library, studying. It was after dinner, and LIly had changed out of her robes. After throwing on black jeans, she put one of her favorite shirts on. From the front, it looked like a simple tan tee-shirt, but when she turned around, you would see that the back of the shirt was all lace and see through. Lily didn’t normally wear such out there clothing, but she loved it.
Looking up, she saw Logan Shacklebolt sitting down at her table. He threw his feet on top of the table, and Lily rolled her blue eyes. She knew Logan from her father. Dad and Kingsley Shacklebolt were good friends, and worked together. Growing up, Lily had spent time with the Shacklebolt children, and she’d always hated Logan. However, even Lily couldn’t argue that the boy had charm.
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t the Loser Shacklebolt. Don’t you have anything better to do, like work on failing out of school?” Lily smirked. Everyone knew Tony and Violetta Shacklebolt’s lights shined much brighter than Logan Shacklebolt. Everyone also knew how much Logan Shacklebolt did not care about his grades.

Couldn't take this town much longer Now I'm ready to be free Logan had known Lily back when she was in diapers. Of course so was he, since he was only a year older than her. They'd spent a vast majority of their childhood together, since Kingsley and Harry were so close. They'd been forced playmates, though from a young age... It was obvious that Logan and Lily were never truly meant to be friends. "You know, Lily, I think you need to learn how to pronounce "Awesome", correctly," he said, grabbing the nearest book and flipping through it, without actually taking anything in. He didn't even know what subject it was on.
"I'd watch it, Baby Potter. I've got some nice diaper rash stories I'm sure you'd just love everyone to hear about. Once the baby, always the baby," he couldn't help but smile at this. Lily had never quite been able to bring him down, and he loved nothing else to pick on her. He threw the book back down on the table, his expression screaming how bored he was.
He smirked, pulling his feet off the table and looking at her with big brown eyes. "Of course, you know Lily," he made a point of not calling her Baby Potter, "if I had a good tutor, especially one as pretty as you, perhaps I'd care a little more about school." He tried to say it with as straight a face as possible.

is it worth it? Can you even hear me? Lily glared at Logan as he grabbed her potions book. Reaching over, she snatched it out of his hands. “Trust me, the last thing I need are vocabulary lessons from you,” she growled.
“Tell diaper rash stories, and I’ll tell everyone about the time you got stuck in a tree… and cried like a little baby.” Lily hated how he called her Baby Potter. Every minute she spent with Logan, was a minute she wanted to shove forks in her eyeballs. But, as much as Lily hated Logan…. He was just so cute.
“Well, if you are really serious, I’ll tutor you. I’ve read James and Albus’s old books, and the fifth year stuff isn’t that hard. I’ve tried most of it.” Lily loved nothing more than reading books, and practicing stuff beyond her school level. It was the one ‘rebellious’ thing her parents approved of.

Couldn't take this town much longer Now I'm ready to be free Oh Baby Potter, I think you do. It seems like I could add fun, adventure, and dreams-come-true to your list. I mean, come on, do you wanna be a stick in the mud your entire life?" he said, shrugging about the book. He hated potions almost as much as he hated muggle studies. At least in potions though he could show off that he knew how to make the harder potions (because of course, to be a bad ass, you have to have the natural skills.)
He faked grabbing at his heart. "Your words wound me young one. You'd tell everyone about a scared little boy, afraid of falling to his death before having the chance to really live?" He smirked. "They were fake tears anyway. Trying to make you feel bad for making me climb all the way up there," he said, wiggling his eyebrows at her.
He leaned in towards Lily. "I could let you tutor me, Lily. There's none smarter than you. You must take after your Aunt, being so bright. But then..., he dropped his voice, what would someone like me, a loser, no good at school, yet very attractively sexy older boy... have to offer you?" He pulled away, a flirty smile on his face.

is it worth it? Can you even hear me? “Are you mad? YOU made ME climb the tree! You knew I was afraid of heights! I was seven years old!” Lily whispered shouted. The tree climbing session in question took place only weeks after the dreaded flying accident. Lily’s leg was still healing, and Logan had taunted her until she agreed to climb it. Or at least, thats how she remembered it.
“If you really want tutoring, I will. I can help you with almost everything. The only thing I can’t is dueling, Dad doesn’t want me dueling. Oh, and how can I take after Aunt Hermione? We share no blood, Idiot.” When Lily left for Hogwarts this year, Harry gave her very strict instructions not to join dueling. Harry wanted his little baby to stay safe, and not get hurt.
Leaning in closer to Logan, she whispered, “And trust me, you are not nearly as sexy as you think you are.”

Couldn't take this town much longer Now I'm ready to be free Oh please, you didn't even get past the first branch! I made it all the way to the top, quite a noble deed for... how old was I, five... maybe six?" He said, raising his voice. "No one forced you to even get in the tree. But to question my bravery? That was too far Baby Potter, he said, the smile no longer on his face. She'd challenged him after all. Logan had a thing for keeping things with him over the years. Hold a grudge he could.
He shrugged. "You don't have to share blood to take after someone. And you don't have to take after someone you share blood with," he said, a bite in his voice. He was obviously referring to his brother, Anthony. They did not get along, and they practically hated each other. They talked when they had to, which was rarely ever. He glared towards the book shelf, trying to think of what else to say. He didn't want to discuss what he mean by the last statement.
"Why on earth would Harry Potter not want his only daughter to learn how to duel? I know all about your dad, I've heard him tell the stories himself. Seems ridiculous. You should really talk to him about it. Dueling isn't something to take lightly. I could teach you that. Of course, I could always teach you other things, too," he said, raising an eyebrow, the smirk back, obviously implying not so nice things.
"Oh I can't think about it too long, babe. It starts to get to be too much. Or maybe, you just don't want to let on how sexy you think I am. I wouldn't blame you. I don't know how you handle it. Of course, if you were wanting more of a sneak peek, I'm not opposed."

is it worth it? Can you even hear me? "You were eight at the time, I was seven. Didn't we already establish you're a year older?" Lily said, dryly.
Lily's expression soften, she knew how much Logan struggled with his siblings. She gently put her hand on his shoulder. "You know, your older brother is really smart. However, he's also really stupid. Anyone who doesn't want to get to know you, is an idiot. Logan, you actually arent that bad. I'd even go as far as to call us friend," Lily smiled softly. She hated seeing people upset, and did her best to comfort those in need.
"Oh, dear Daddy doesn't want his little girl growing up. Dad practically threw a fit when Mum took me to buy bras for first time. You would have thought I told him 'I'm going to go have sex with every boy at Hogwarts', the way he reacted." Lily groaned. Her father was so over protective, it was insane.
"Would it kill you to stop talking dirty? Don't you ever think that not every girl wants to see your junk?" Lily was getting agitated. Logan was so full of himself, it drove her crazy.

Couldn't take this town much longer Now I'm ready to be free Logan rolled his eyes. Lily, if I listened to every word of the sentence I wouldn't be a dude. And it wouldn't be so fun to piss you off," he said, smiling almost genuinely. That is, until she brought up Anthony.
He scooted his chair back away from her. "You know, for someone so damned smart, you can't really tell when to keep your mouth shut, because people don't want to talk about certain things. Anthony is a taboo topic and let's keep it that way, kay? Thanks," he said, shaking his head. "Really, we're friends Baby Potter? Hard to believe you'd go that far. Remember, I'm kind of a douche?"
"Dear God... Potter. Have you ever heard of the expression 'TMI'? I do not want to hear about your bra shopping adventures with your mum. Unless you wanna show me your bra. That's information I'd love to have an exclusive look at," he said, winking. She had brought it up after all.
"Hey, babe, when the girls stop asking to see it, I'll stop showing it. I've never heard a girl complain yet. You could s- Just trust me," he cut himself off, though the temptation to finish saying she could see herself was still strong.

is it worth it? Can you even hear me? "Remember, I'm kind of a douche?"
That was the last thing Lily heard, before she blocked everything out. Eyes welling up, she gathered her books and stood up. Lily started to leave, but changed her mind. She turned, and looked Logan in the eyes, her own filling with tears. This was no easy feat, standing at only four feet, and eight inches, Logan was easily six feet tall. "You know, Logan? There is a reason your whole family hates you. There's a reason the whole dab castle hates you. You are a jerk! I tried to be your friend, I've been trying since we were babies! Why are you so incapable of just being a decent person? Is it so horrible to just be nice?!" Lily started off in a whisper, but finished yelling. Once she felt the tears well over, and spill down her face, she turned away. Lily hated how she cried when she was angry, it seemed weak to her. Lily took off on a quick pace, leaving the library.

Couldn't take this town much longer Now I'm ready to be free This time... He may have gone too far. He'd forgotten that she was still only fourteen, and not as out there as he was. But she was very capable of lashing out too. Telling him his whole family hated him, the entire castle hated him? Wasn't the first time. "No flipping duh my family hates me. I'm the rebellious asshole, I don't fit in. But I don't pretend to. I'm sorry I'm not like the precious Lily Potter, sucking up and pretending like I give a shit about things I don't. You'd love to dual, you'd love to be yourself wouldn't you? But you can't, because you're too busy hiding behind famous daddy!" He'd also stood up. He wasn't going to back down to a fourteen year old drama queen, especially when he'd known her so long.
He got up close to her, which was a lot of looking down, since he was about six feet, and she was no where close to even five. "You know, Lily, you've never actually tried to be my friend. We were forced together because we were the youngest. Closest in age. No one wanted to play with you either when our families got together. Is it so hard for me to be nice? Yes. You start to be nice, you get stepped on. I'm not a doormat Potter, and I suggest you stop being one, too."
He reached out for her hand. "Babe, you've really got to get the thought out of your head that everyone is gonna be nice. Because they aren't. And you can walk out that door just like everyone else does to me, I'm used to it. Or you can put on your big girl pants and accept the big bad wolf and stop being a daddy's little girl. It's gonna get you no where, and I'm just gonna say I told you so later down the road." Logan was not much of a motivational speaker. And he didn't quite know how to say he was sorry, not that he was trying. But he didn't want Lily to leave. So maybe making her mad would get her to stay longer.

is it worth it? Can you even hear me? Lily looked up at Logan, her blue eyes swimming with tears. She listened to his speech, she listened to Logan call her a spoiled, sheltered little girl. By the time Logan was finished, her hand was twitching. "What makes you think you know me?! You said it yourself, we aren't friends! So what if I'm Daddy's Little Girl? So what if my family loves me, and wants what's best for me?" Lily shouted, getting dirty looks from the old librarian. Quickly, she casted a silencing spell. Lily didn't know how she felt. On one hand, she was furious. No one had ever talked to her like this. On the other hand, she felt respect and attraction for Logan. There was something about his attitude that she liked. Before she could stop herself, Lily slapped Logan across the face. Once she realized what she did, she was shocked. Lily pushed Logan down to the bench that sat in the aisle they were in and kissed him, right on the lips.

Couldn't take this town much longer Now I'm ready to be free Lily was obviously furious. She started shouting, which was of course going to throw the librarian in a tizzy. But Lily thought quick, and cast a silencing spell. Which was good, he wasn't done yelling. "You don't even know what's best for you Baby Potter!" he yelled, getting even more pissed. He wasn't used to girls getting in his face like this anymore than Lily was used to anyone treating her this way.
Before he even knew what was going on Lily's hand had found it's way across his face; and hard. He wasn't expecting it. He'd never been smacked by a girl before, let alone someone so young and fiery. Not that he'd ever smacked a girl either. He may not have been a gentleman like Anthony, but he did have some manners. He started to retaliate, getting fired up with the passion to yell and call Lily out, but he was caught off guard.
He found himself getting pushed down, laying on the bench. His mouth was soon touching Lily's, which he wasn't going to complain about, expecting it or not. Of course he had hoped, kissing pretty girls was always on his mind. He was gentle, though. Lily couldn't have been kissing many guys. Logan was not the bottom kind of guy though, and in one quick motion managed to roll over so that Lily was underneath him, though it seemed there was no movement at all. (yes, he was that good). "I always knew you wanted me, Baby Potter," he said, pulling away, in a "no big deal" kind of way.

is it worth it? Can you even hear me? "If don't know what's best for me, and if my family doesn't know know what's best for me, then why do you think you do?! You don't know me, you don't know my life!" Lily screamed.
When Logan flipped them over so he was on top, she wasn't expecting that. Lily had kissed a boy once, during third year. That one single kiss was the end of her experience.
After a few gental kisses, she pushed Logan off. Lily couldn't pick out one clear emotion, fear, attraction, anger, frustration, sadness, and more. When Logan didn't move as fast as she liked, Lily started hitting his cheat. With a final shove, Lily moved away from Logan. "This is no way I 'want you', Loser Shacklebolt. I wouldn't want you if my hair was on fire, and you were the last bucket of water in the world!" Lily finished screaming and walked away, leaving her books and wand on the table.
