Style: Alaric isn’t the strongest, toughest guy in the world. He stands at about 6’0’’, but he’s seriously lacking in muscle. He weighs about 150lbs, like I said, lacking in muscle. He’s very lanky and very skinny, but he can pretty much eat anything and not gain a single pound. When his hair is longer, its normally sticking out every which way, which leads him to keeping it fairly short. He has soft brown eyes, which give him a childlike appearance. He likes his scruff, it makes him look a little bit older and little less boybandish. He wears pretty much formalish attire to teach. Dress pants, button up dress shirts, a vest and tie. He always, always has on converse sneakers. He has this bright purple scarf he wears out when its cold.

Personality:
Alaric is a goofball, and I really mean it! He’s always making the stupidest expressions and saying the funniest things. One of his many talents it to be able to talk a mile a minute. He’s able to say a full paragraph without taking a breath, so he normally talks very fast and sometimes will have to repeat himself because people don’t understand him. He’s a little shy when you first meet him, but once you get to know this guy, he doesn’t quite know what ‘shut up’ means! Alaric is a fierce, fierce friend, he’s always there when people need him. He finds that he’s a lot of the student’s ‘go-to’ teacher if they have a problem or they just need to talk about something. Ric really likes that his students are so willing to open up to him like that.
Alaric does have a bad side, but it’s rarely shown. You can easily get onto it if you hurt anyone he cares about, but he tries to not show that he has a bad side, he just tries to show that if there’s a person he’s not too fond of, that he leaves them alone. He’s a brilliant man, truly he is, he finds new information fascinating and he tends to collect it all into his brain and hopes that one day, it may come in handy. One of the things that he fears the most is another wizarding world war, but then again, who isn’t afraid of one happening? He’s also a true gentleman, holding doors open and whatnot. He believes the chivalry isn’t dead, just that most men have become very lazy.
Overall though, Alaric s by far someone who’s willing to befriend a lot of people, even his students, seeing how he’s not that much older than his oldest ones. So if you ever have a problem, you can come talk to him about it, and he’ll listen and try to help you out the best way possible.

General History:
Alaric was born to Hilary and Jason Richardson May 2, 1999. His mother had met his father a year after the battle of Hogwarts had taken place, and she kind of fell hard, despite the fact that he was a muggle. Ric often wondered how his dad took to her being a witch and all he’s ever told him is that it matters not what a person is, but who a person is. Ric was never one to like his father’s odd riddles, but he just nods his head and pretends it sunk in. Alaric was always very close to his dad, and thought that once his sister was born, his dad would stop paying as much attention to him and more to her. It never happened, much to little Ric’s surprise. As the two grew older, Alaric learned he didn’t have a knack for Quidditch or any sport for that matter. He was always to lanky and not tough enough for it, which was what lead him to being book smart, he was brilliant and he still is.
When Alaric got his letter to Hogwarts, he was very excited, but he didn’t want to leave his little sister behind. She’d been his best friend for the nine years she’d been around, but this was a good chance for him to make new friends. Alaric’s never had many friends, so he was grateful that he was placed into Ravenclaw and made friends with a blonde girl named Jennifer. The two had instantly clicked and she was able to kind of prevent the mean pranks from being played on him. He found a knack for Ancient Ruins and pretty much fell in love with the class. Ric loves history, more than a normal person probably should, but that’s what lead him to being the top of his class in History of Magic.
After graduation from Hogwarts, Alaric thought about “upgrading” his muggle courses and maybe taking a career path that way. Then he heard that there was a chance that History of Magic was in need of a new teacher and he basically jumped at that idea. He loved teaching for his first year and he loves it even more now. He was never prouder of himself than the day he became head of Ravenclaw house
