HER BOYFRIEND, HE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER His boss had taken the weekend to vacation with his family before the school year started, so TJ was working alone. He would much rather be in Aruba like his superior, who was treating his Hogwarts-aged children to a little fun in the sun before they had to go back to the castle. Unfortunately, TJ’s parents were never financially sublime like the family that owned Quality Quidditch Supplies, so he hadn’t traveled very far outside of the United Kingdom. He planned to, someday, but today was definitely not that day. Locking the outside of the shop with a couple swishes of his wand, TJ let out a resounding sigh, looking up and over the exterior of the shop, with its swinging sign in the shape of a broom, the windows full of one-of-a-kind beater bats, snitches, and other equipment. He couldn’t help but smile a little, a twinge of pride rising up within him before he turned on his heel and headed down the alley. The last couple weeks hadn’t been especially easy; with everything going on, running the shop on his own was an escape. He’d been fighting with his girlfriend, and it had all climaxed a couple days ago, when they had a shouting match so intense, that she’d stormed out of his apartment, and the pair hadn’t spoken since. It was all so frustrating to him, because he wanted to reach out to her, but when it came to Sloper, he was eternally stubborn. She was the only person worth arguing with, he felt, even though that didn’t translate very well to their actual relationship. She was one-of-a-kind, but just…so…argh! Ducking into the Leaky Cauldron, his entrance was noted by the ringing of some bells attached to the door. Nodding at a couple of the other ‘usuals’ (other shopkeepers and people around during closing time), he approached the bar, participating in robotic, idle chit-chat with the bartender, ordering himself a large butterbeer. When it was placed in front of him, he drank from it deeply, happy to have a little pick-me-up inside him at last. The day itself had been very long, and because he’d only thought about work all day, naturally, he couldn’t stop thinking about everything that was going on with Sloper. He wanted to contact her, he really did! He was afraid to scare her away. He didn’t want to misstep. But there was another side to it too- he wanted to defend himself! He wanted to be stubborn…for once, he wanted her to apologize! TJ squeezed his eyes shut, trying to put it out of his mind again. He’d have to deal with it all sooner or later. [atrb=border,0,bTable]god's not gonna help you, son.[style=width: 400px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; padding: 10 0; margin: 0 0 4 0; text-align: justify; border-top: 6px solid white; border-bottom: 6px solid white;]Sometimes Dominique wondered why she ever hung out with others of the same gender as herself, especially when they'd had some sort of big fight with their boyfriend. It was so messy, with tears and crying one moment and then the next second they were bitching about how he did do this, or how he didn't do it. By the end of the meeting, Dominique could honestly say she was confused about what the argument had even been about. All she knew was that Sloper was in one of those moods, and that it had something to do with that TJ boyfriend of hers. However, for Dominique it also meant that the whole tip-toeing thing would have to happen once more when it came to herself and TJ's friend Davin.
Seeing as how when the couples fought, it meant that the friends of the couples, who had become friends, had to be cautious as well. Or face the wrath of said fighting couple, something which Dominique often found herself trying to avoid. Relationships were either heavenly and peaceful, or they were the sort of thing that would have anyone heading for the hills. But for now at least, after a day of work, one needed to relax, to take a moment for themself. Which was why Dominique found herself wandering into the popular pub. A place that often left good memories for her, and a sense of relief whenever she walked into the somewhat warming decor, or decor of sorts. "Hmmm..." she the mousey haired women murmured as she shifted her weight before deciding the bar was where she would stop for her drink.
Leaning forwards on the wood she plopped herself down into one of the stools as she ordered herself the same thing she always ordered after a long day. A butterbeer, the sweet and warming drink was definitely something that could settle anyones unease, or at least hers. Taking the first sip from the butterbeer, she licked her lips and felt a slight chill roll down her spine, ah yes, this was why she liked this place so much. All for a simple butterbeer, she knew this was going to at least be a good night. That was, until a familiar voice came to touch her ears, and Dominique turned her head to see TJ. And she could feel that awkward side of her sort creep out, biting the bottom of her lip she nodded to him once. "Looks like you've had a long day," no hi, no how are you, just a straight observation. Oh yeah, Dominique definitely had that social skill right there. HER BOYFRIEND, HE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER The butterbeer sailed down his throat speedily, and he was grateful for the warm charms it worked on his throat and spine. Running around the shop all day had been rather exhausting, and this was the perk he needed to get home, make some dinner, and maybe read the Evening Prophet. Chances were, however, that he would just pass out on his bed after grabbing a snack from the tiny kitchen in the house he shared with Davin. He didn’t really have that much energy left, and he was sure that he’d be thinking about Sloper until he fell asleep, so he’d want to fall asleep as soon as possible. What he wasn’t banking on was the soft sound of Dominique Weasley’s voice coming from next to him. He turned his head, surprised, and saw her sitting one bar stool away from him, an empty one between them. A small smile split over his lips, albeit a little awkward. “That bad, huh?” he said, raising an eyebrow and taking another gulp of butterbeer, not bothering to look down at his appearance, as he was sure the exhaustion was apparent in his face and not the rest of his physique. Pausing, he quickly took another sip of butterbeer, unsure of how to proceed. Dom, though she was an old housemate and acquaintance of his, was Sloper’s best friend, and she probably wanted nothing to do with him. But she had started the conversation, hadn’t she? It was all very mixed up and confusing, despite only affecting four people. There was him and Davin, best mates forever, always around each other, bros before hoes, yada yada yada. Then there was him and Sloper, who’d started dating. And then Dom and Davin seemed to have eyes for each other, at least he was sure that Davin was into Dom. They’d discussed it enough, hadn’t they? That meaning- he’d pestered Davin about it enough. So he and Dom were on opposite ends of this awkward, undefined romantic spectrum. Geez, he never thought about anything this deeply before. Why did Sloper make everything so complicated? Ugh. He hated that word. Complicated was a term used by prissy fourth year girls when they talked about their first kisses. Yuck. “How’ve you been, Dom?” he asked, not seeing why he shouldn’t start pleasant conversation with her. Dom was a cool girl, training to be a hit-witch. Or, she already was one. He wasn’t quite sure. He’d been too mixed up in thinking about or fighting with Sloper to pay much attention to whatever was going on with her best friend. He should take notes so he’d have something, anything, to report back to Davin. [atrb=border,0,bTable]god's not gonna help you, son.[style=width: 400px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; padding: 10 0; margin: 0 0 4 0; text-align: justify; border-top: 6px solid white; border-bottom: 6px solid white;]"Well you certainly don't have that normal..."I'm TJ" sort of feel..." If that even made any sense, cause at the time, inside that head of hers it had. But when it came to actually saying it out loud, it seemed more awkwardly said than Dominique had actually intended it to be, even if it was relatively true. She took this oppurtunity to take another sip from the warm Butterbeer that she'd ordered and after setting the cup back down she licked her lips. Getting the last taste of the delicious drink, and found herself fiddling with the handle of the cup before then looking back up and towards TJ as he spoke once more.
Normal conversation was it? Well, this was something that Dominique could handle to a certain degree without making her seem like a total dork. "I've been alright, working, looking after Pip since he tends to find himself in trouble." Dominique shrugged a bit, shifting once more. "And what about you?" Though she felt that she would already know the answer to that, considering she knew the relationship status was one that was strained. She'd heard enough of the angry side of it to last her a lifetime, and to an extent she was pretty sure if Sloper found out that she was here with TJ she'd get her head bitten off. But well, there was no going back now, and it wasn't like Dominique disliked TJ or anything, she knew he was a good guy, was kind and respectful towards her stubborn friend. It was probably why she felt the need to tread lightly between the two, unsure of what could explode depending on the different things that could happen.
Biting the bottom of her lip for a moment she found herself looking to TJ and studying his face for a brief minute, "Definitely one of the bigger ones, wasn't it?" She questioned him before looking back down towards the drink and found herself taking yet another sip from the golden colored drink. Or at least looking at him, and thinking back to the not-so-happy Sloper she'd had back at the apartment, she could assume that it wasn't just one of their tiffs that they'd been having. Of course this was coming from an outsider's perspective, so really Dominique couldn't say that she was someone all that useful. Maybe she would end up regretting these words, but she felt she might as well be one of those useful people who can at least be a shoulder to lean on. Or offer some sort of advice when handling the crazed Sloper. "Anything I can do?" HER BOYFRIEND, HE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER He raised an eyebrow, a little confused as to how to interpret what Dominique had said. After a sip of butterbeer and some careful contemplation, he came to the conclusion that she must mean that he didn’t seem like himself. What else could she have meant? That sentiment in itself was enough to have him a little more concerned about himself, though. He always prided himself on his “brand”, so to speak. He was TJ, and he’d always be TJ. A one-of-a-kind guy. He, and he only, made himself what he was. Well, that’s pretty confusing, but it made sense in his head. The fact that he wasn’t appearing like he usually did was a pretty severe wake-up call. “I’m…working on it.” he said in response, laughing a little in spite of his worrisome inner monologue. “The boss is out of town, so I’m running the shop on my own this weekend. That’s probably why I’m a little peckish, hm?” He pinched at his cheeks irritably, flashing a faux, yet brilliant, smile in her direction, breaking down into chuckles after the fact. “Ah! The little mongrel!” TJ had been fortunate enough to meet the little rascal on one occasion, and had instantly fallen in love. The little bugger wasn’t exactly like Davin’s crup, but TJ loved all sorts of animals, and fluffy little ones like Pip were no exception. “Got a right bit more energy than Tipper,” he said, referencing his very fat, weaseled cat. Ah, naturally the conversation would turn to him and how he was. If her reference to his state earlier wasn’t a tipoff, she obviously had talked to Sloper. Of course she had! They were best friends! Dom obviously knew everything that was going on, but was it that obvious that it was affecting him so viciously? Apparently it was. “I’ve been better.” he said, smiling and laughing despite the morbidity of his tone. He was touched when she offered her help, but what could she do? “I doubt she wants to talk to me.” he said in a very un-TJ-like tone. Sad wasn’t really his thing. “I just don’t know what to do, I guess.”TAGS: Dominique Weasley WORDS: 360 OUTFIT: CLICK!NOTES: D’awww TOO STONED, NINTENDO, WISH I COULD MAKE HER SEE template by eliza @ shadowplay

Yes, Dominique was definitely an awkward turtle, but at least with her that meant that she at least like the person she was being awkward enough to actually engage in a conversation. Even if it was one where she phrased things oddly and caused arched eye brows, if she was the sort to blush and stumble over her words she probably would have done so right then and there. However, she chose to simply bite the inside of her cheek instead, until she felt herself not nearly as, well, awkward. If that was at possible with this sort of thing, but it probably helped that TJ at least came off as more calming than Dom was.
"Sounds like you've got yourself quite the load this week," She said with a nod, that was definitely not the sort of situation that she would want to find herself in. Of course, she wasn't the best people person, so that sort of business was the sort of thing that Dom would often stay away from. Plus she doubted anyone would really hire someone who often came off as cold towards those she didn't really know, which would probably be everyone if she went into the retail business. At that bright smile of his, Dominique couldn't help but smile in turn, "Mmm..He certainly knows how to keep me busy when I finally get home," and laughed at the thought of the pudgy cat that TJ owned. She'd been to their apartment once, but the cat certainly was one to remember. "Amazing that Tipper can put up with Hazelle."
Dominique had to debate whether or not a pat on the back would be a good idea at this point, it certainly seemed like needed some form of comfort or cheering up. However, at that moment she decided she would wait on it, maybe when things a bit more comfortable for herself. She found herself yet again biting the bottom of her lip as she heard the Sloper comment, "Well, she still is rather...ragey..." it seemed like the best term to describe the current modd of her best friend. "I've found that us girls are a very complicated gender, especially to the men in our lives." Dominique said with the firm nod and tapped her chin a couple of times. "Even I'm confused by us and our actions sometimes," glancing to him and shaking her head a bit. "I'd say give her a couple days and then try to contact her, most girls, even when pissed, like it when they know the guy tries." HER BOYFRIEND, HE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER “They’re the best of friends, actually. Quite ridiculous, really, as one’s a little mutt and the other is a blubbery diva!” The thought of the animals that would be waiting for him when he finally walked through the door of his flat made the rest of his day seem a little brighter. Quite reliable when you’re in a pinch, animals! Hazel would follow him around until Davin got home, but Tipper would be there to fill in the rest, and keep his feet warm while he slept. You can’t buy that sort of endless love! Dominique was surprisingly talkative on the subject, but he was happy to listen. He was quite sure he’d never heard her say that many things without someone else saying something in between. Sloper always told him that she was slow to warm up to people, and he, of course, believed her, as she was his girlfriend’s best friend. Not that TJ was particularly turned off by Dom, he really liked her! He was completely the opposite (usually, that is. This week was just ridiculous); he loved making conversation with people he didn’t know and engaging anyone and everyone about random and ridiculous topics. He was an open book and kept only very private things to himself. Like his relationships. But, here he was, discussing his openly with a direct line to the lovely girl he was fighting with. Funny how things work out. He winced a little at the mention of her continued anger. There was nothing more poisonous to his mood than the recurring thought of her flustered face before she stormed out of his flat, slamming the door behind her so hard that it seemed it might rip off its hinges! He took what Dom said to heart, though, deciding that she was a level headed girl who seemed to have the right idea about this sort of stuff. To her discredit, it already had been a couple days, so that wasn’t very comforting. Maybe he should wait a little longer? Maybe he should wait for Sloper to apologize to him! She’d been the one who flounced out of his place, hadn’t she?! “Since when has Sloper been like ‘most girls’?” he said, not meaning to put down Dom’s advice, but doing so in the process. He momentarily buried his head in his hands, rubbing at his eyes irritably, trying to push the thoughts out through the back of his head. To no avail, he picked up his butterbeer again and drank deeply, finishing the entire half mug left in mere seconds. Setting the empty stein down on the bar, he turned in his stool to face Dom, propping up his chin in his fist, his elbow on the bar. “Am I an asshole, Dom?” he asked plainly, perfectly serious in his questioning. He needed to get to the bottom of this. Was it him? Was it her? Was it that they weren’t compatible? Something about the relationship wasn’t working, and he needed to start considering himself. He really hoped that he wasn’t just some huge jerk that was causing all these problems. That wouldn’t be good for his self-esteem. But, she would blame it on the fact that she rarely found herself speaking about Sloper unless it was with Sloper herself, plus it probably also had to do with the fact that she also had to deal with Sloper when she was in these negative sort of moods. When it really came down to it, she figured that she liked TJ, even if as the best friend of Sloper, this was the last person she should go about liking when it came to their tiffs. However, she found herself biting the bottom of her lip now, as if to catch herself from speaking much more than she had already.
Chewing that bottom lip she listened to what the brunette said, and grinned a bit at the thought of the wizarding dog and the cat that were back at his place were the best of friends was something of an amusing thought. "Funny how the animals that are supposed to hate each other are able to become the best of friends." If only humans worked in a similar manner, somehow Dominique felt that then there wouldn't be nearly as much drama in the world as there typically was. At the thought of drama Dominique found herself drawn back in at the mention of Sloper, probably one of the most dramatic people she knew, and even with that craziness the closed off Dominique considered the other to be the best friend. And TJ was right in his first question, Sloper definitely wasn't like most girls, at least most of the time, and certainly not when it came to arguments or large tiffs that she may have with someone. "Well, thats certainly true, she's most exactly...like most girls." wrinkling her nose a bit Dominique took this moment to think, and take yet another sip from the Butterbeer.
"I'd say that both of you guys need to figure out whatever the core problem was or whatever and not be so stubborn..." Dominique said slowly after she'd another moment of thought. Not that she was one that could really lecture about how to not be stubborn, seeing as how that was one of the things that Sloper and herself had in common, especially when in a fight and each member of said fight thought they were right. Which seemed to be the same sort of thing that was going on between TJ and Sloper. However it was his sudden complete face towards her and then the blunt question of him being asshole. This would have to be another one of those times where she had to think the answer over, because she definitely had Sloper in the back of her mind screaming that of course he was an asshole.
"I personally, wouldn't consider you to be an asshole. I think that neither one of you is willing to give into whatever happened, and are letting heated arguments, and the fear of whats to happen next get the better ruling." Or at least from the arguments that she'd heard from Sloper and the common sense that ran through her head sort of just came to that conclusion. "I'm not the love guru...Let alone the Sloper Guru, but I can see that the emotions are definitely high, on both ends, with this argument of yours." HER BOYFRIEND, HE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER TJ nodded, in complete agreement with Dominique’s sentiment on animals. He took a moment and thought the idea over. Wouldn’t it be interesting if people acted the same way? In some ways, they did. Sloper and himself argued enough- they were completely incompatible in almost every way possible, yet they were together (that was actually up for debate, though). What wasn’t up for debate was the way he ultimately felt about her. She was the only girl in his eyes; he was just so god damn frustrated at her inability to let go of certain things, admit defeat, and apologize. He couldn’t call her out on it though, because deep down, he knew he had the same problem himself. Dominique confirmed this with her suggestion. TJ resisted the urge to groan, because it was definitely more difficult to hear the reality of the situation out loud than quietly contemplate it, or simply push it away, in the back of his mind. He’d been trying to figure out the core problem for days, because he just hadn’t been able to stop thinking about her or their fight since. After over-thinking every possible aspect of their relationship, he’d come to the general conclusion that their big fight wasn’t exactly the issue at hand. It was their entire relationship and the way they functioned with one another. He wasn’t ready to approach her about that though, especially since he couldn’t even consider approaching her about their latest fight, which, after all this contemplation and thinking, seemed so small on the spectrum of issues that were TJ and Sloper. He let out a small, if not comic, sigh of relief. It was nice to hear her say that, especially because of the position that Dominique was currently in. It was completely refreshing to have a girl speak her mind and the total truth, rather than stubbornly carbon copy the feelings of her friend. The fact that Dominique was even talking to him right now was pretty awesome in itself, and he took special note of that. He wouldn’t forget her courtesy. Also, he wouldn’t forget that she didn’t think he was an asshole. That was just nice to hear in general. “I’m just so frustrated!” he said in a moment of weakness, letting a bit of his feelings get the best of him and escape. “Chivalry forces me to always be the first one to give in and apologize and try to ‘win her back’,” he started, letting his fingers float into the air, bending and indicating quotations. “But I’m just sick of groveling. Does she want this all to work? Because to me, it seems like she just wants me to apologize to her rather than take the time and effort to think about the problem itself, and consider if she’s at fault too.” He immediately regretted letting loose. Dom’s words were comforting to hear, because it was nice to know they could still be friends, but she was obligated to report back to Sloper, so he was sure that she’d hear everything he just said. Squeezing his eyes shut for a moment, he inhaled deeply, and took a sip of butterbeer, collecting himself. “Sorry, Dom. I don’t mean to lay this all on your shoulders. It’s our battle, not yours.” He smirked, in spite of himself, pushing his now empty butterbeer away from him on the bar. Seeing as how she barely fessed up to the emotions that she often felt on her own, especially when it came to another raven haired male. But now wasn't the time to be sucked into that train of thought, especially since now she had TJ opening up even more so than he had before. Spilling out the things he felt, and while it was a little unnerving for someone who tried to deny such intense emotions, Dominique felt herself more drawn into the conversation than having the desire to run away from it all.
"Don't worry about it TJ," were the first set of words that came from her mouth as she leaned herself forward on the bar and sucked in a breath of air. This might come to bite her in the ass at some point, but hell, she would go a head and say it anyway. Maybe it would help that best friend of hers sort out her own thoughts about the relationship, because she already knew that the two belonged together. That much was easy to see, even if both of them, more so her roommate, was too stubborn to get back together with the man she was clearly in love with. "Then don't be the chivalrous guy," Dominique said slowly looking to him. "Don't be an asshole, but don't let her get her way, at least right away, by having you crawl on back to her," Oh yes, this was something that she was pretty sure would at least get her a lecture from the blonde.
Dominique had her fair share of fights with Jackie over the years that she'd known her, and to some degree Dominique was good at figuring things out and how to handle Jackie, even if that meant that sometimes pushing things further before they could get better. "You're a good guy, I think everyone knows that, they also know you tend to be a goof ball, so pushing things in a serious manner may be a good thing to do." Dominique said with a slow shrug. "Maybe show her that the good guy, goofball TJ, is also a serious, mature guy whose totally into her, and looking to the future." Although, Dominique had a feeling that the two were old pros at showing just how much they are into each other without her throwing that bit out. Biting her lower lip once more she looked to Tj after pushing around the basically empty glass before her, "As you can tell, I'm not the best at this whole...advice thing, thats just sorta what I think when it comes to this fight you two are going through." HER BOYFRIEND, HE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER TJ was stunned. Dom was giving him some pretty heartfelt advice. It was pretty strange, as the pair had never really talked like this before. Now that he thought about it, this was probably the most time they’d even spent alone together. TJ was rarely without Davin in school, and the same went for Dom and Sloper. When he and Sloper got together, his time was split between his best friend and his girlfriend, and he was sure that Jackie was doing the same thing with him and Dom. He and Dom had never crossed paths much, though, except on the off chance that they were having a group date or something awkward like that. It was pretty good advice too. Dom was helping him keep a level head, basically telling him that he was totally ok to be feeling how he did. That was definitely a relief. It was nice to hear that you’re not barking crazy and that not everyone hates you. Sloper wasn’t really so hot on the idea of him right now, but she still cared about him, right? If he held out longer and made this a really serious thing, maybe she would give more thought to it and find that it was worth apologizing. He sure hoped that she found him worth apologizing for, at least. He didn’t want to think about the result of the alternative. “Wow, well…” he started, leaning back on his bar stool a little and taking a big breath in and out. “Dom. Thank you, honestly.” He was very genuine in his sentiment, and lifted a hand to call over the bar tender. Happily and without regret, he order a couple more butterbeers, one for him and one for her. He wanted to show his gratitude not only for her advice, but for their friendship in general, as he now knew that it actually existed. “On that note,” he said, picking up the new, topped-off butterbeer in front of him. “Enough about me and all that talk.” He took a large sip and placed the cup back on the table, turning to face Dom in his bar stool once again. “Anything you need advice on? So that I might repay you for yours?” This was TJ, so of course there was a sly hint of joking in his words, but he was legitimately interested to see if she would say anything. Dom was a tough egg shell to crack. TAGS: Dominique Weasley WORDS: 501 OUTFIT: CLICK!NOTES: ----- TOO STONED, NINTENDO, WISH I COULD MAKE HER SEE template by eliza @ shadowplay

[atrb=border,0,bTable]god's not gonna help you, son.[style=width: 400px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; padding: 10 0; margin: 0 0 4 0; text-align: justify; border-top: 6px solid white; border-bottom: 6px solid white;]Dominique could actually say that she was rather at ease with TJ, something which for her was rather odd, seeing as how she'd always been the sort of person who stuck to books rather than people. Yet, here she was giving reasonable advice and talking the some guy that she'd known for only so long. But, with a shrug, Dominique gave it no real thought of concern or like she should be putting up a wall, Sloper trusted him enough, liked him enough even when fighting, so she'd already known that he was a good guy. It was one of the reasons why she was so eager for Jackie and TJ to be together, in her opinion they were very ideal for each other.
Of course, it still meant that the two would actually have to get past this spat of theirs and actually move on so that they could, in fact, be together like they should be. And hey, if that went well then maybe Dominique would grow some woman balls and actually own up to the fact that she was attracted to Davin and that it was enough to actually do something about it. But until things cooled down, and she knew that she wouldn't be overstepping any sort of best friend deals, Dominique would have to hold back on that. Or at least, keep on denying that those emotions were actually boiling up inside of her.
Dominique offered a smile and nod to him at his gratitude, "No problem, anytime TJ," and even though she could be considered rather odd from time to time, she actually meant it. This whole sort of heart ot heart of sorts made Dominique think that she'd hoped for this sort of friendship or trust of sorts to be something that lasted between the two. Or at least the sort of thing where she could least go to him if she ever needed advice, and of course vice versa for TJ.
"I don't think so? I mean, I'll let you know if something does come up that I need advice on." And she meant it too, especially since she was still trying to figure out certain things with her own uncertain future. But, at this moment she would wait to sort out those sorts of questions, instead she turned her thought into a completely different one. "Anything exciting going on this weekend?" she questioned taking a sip from the freshly ordered Butterbeer and looking to TJ. It was a simple enough question, and hell maybe it would be another one of those conversation starters that Dominique was often told that she needed to work on when it came to people...and actual talking. Though at least she'd like to think, that so far she'd been doing a splendid job at just that.
