Sure, this place was forbidden, and she knew she could get into trouble for being here, but what was the point of having something so daunting and forbidden right outside a school full of teenagers if it wasn't put there to explore? This seemed like perfectly fine reasoning to her, or at least this was the thing that Emerson had been telling herself over the years anyway. In order to justify herself being there, even if she had been caught several times before, and dealt with the punishment of it. And hey, the punishment was never anything that really made her regret her choice in the first place, which was probably why Emerson found herself back at the entrance of the forbidden forest.
Pushing some of the long red hair from her face she did a final falnce over her shoulder before she moved forward. Pushing past some of the foliage Emerson made a point to always keep her ears open as she moved around, there was no way she was about to let herself be caught off guard. Besides, if she got into unfixable trouble she was pretty sure she'd end up getting into more trouble and more lectures than she would like, that was, if the trouble was the sort that she could get out of alive. A soft chuckle came from her lips at the thought and shook her head before stopping under one of the many trees and grabbed into one of the lower branches. Lifting her feet upwards she tested the strength of the branch and when she didn't come crashing back down to the earth Emerson grinned and pulled herself upwards. Continuing this for another couple of branches before finally picking the one she wanted and leaned back against the tree trunk.
"Ahhh..." Emerson murmured, a sigh of content escaping her lips. Oh yes, up in the trees would always be the place that she felt the most comfortable, or at least like the place that she was unreachable. And that much was true, unless someone decided it would be a good idea to climb up into the tree as well. In fact, Emerson probably would have been able to relax up there if it wasn't for the fact that when she pulled out the sandwich she'd made hadn't fallen from her grasp when pulling it out. "Aww man!" she groaned under her breath as she watched the bagged sandwich hit the ground. Shifting herself, she moved down from the branch and down the second before pausing as she heard movement. Tensing slightly, she glanced over her should from her perch on one of the branches, "Someone there?"

Except when she had permission to. Usually it was during Care of Magical Creatures or accompanying a Professor. She certainly never imagined that she would be back here at Hogwarts as a Healer. Much less be in the forest searching for a plant to use in a potion she wanted to brew. But here she was, trudging through the forest, with her wand out. Her stock for that particular potion was running out and Arabella needed to brew it. It took more than a month to prepare that potion and Arabella wanted a head start.
She nearly tripped a couple of times, and Arabella wasn't someone who lost her balance very often. Plus, chasing after a two year old did wonders for her sense of balance. “There you are!” The blonde muttered, bending down as she spotted that particular plant. She plucked it, root and all, and stuffed it into a pouch she had brought along. There were several of them, and Arabella plucked them all except for two. She had to remember this area. Performing a spell, Arabella got the coordinates of the place and started heading out of the forest.
Arabella couldn't say she liked the environment of this place. She'd much prefer to be back at her living quarters within the castle with Titus. Ara had locked up the room, so there was no way Titus could escape again. Not that he would. He was an active child and Ara imagined he was sleeping peacefully right now due to his energy being depleted during the day. Her thoughts were interrupted by something falling down from a tree a few feet away. The blonde frowned, before heading towards that direction. She spotted a sandwich at the same moment she heard her sister's voice. “Emy?” She looked around, before looking up. “Is that you? I swear if it's you, you better come down now before you break a bone. I'll refuse to mend that broken bone.” Arabella said. Of course, she wouldn't refuse to mend her own sister's broken bone. What kind of sister would she be if she did?

There were a number of things that Emerson would, or at least should be uneasy about when it came to herself and the forbidden forest. Different creatures that thought that her skinny red headed self was tasty, or that she would make some sort of decent meal. Or simply felt like they needed to attack someone, not that Emerson thought that she was going to be a very easy target, cause she would definitely fight back. However, sometimes family members were much more scary than any sort of beast that could emerge from the shadows of the forest around her. It was proof enough when Emerson found herself tensing up at the sound of her sister's voice speaking up to where she was. Biting the bottom of her lip for a moment before lowering herself down to the lower branch and then jumping from that.
She hesitated a moment as she tried not to cringe from the pain that crept up her legs from the impact with the ground. Trying to play it off all cool-like she slowly stood up straight once more and grinned, moving her arms over her head and then straight upwards. "Tadaaaa~" she cheered with a wide grin creeping onto her face. Though she already knew just from the tone of voice that trying to play this whole thing off as a lighthearted, innoccent sort of thing was rather unlikely. even if Emerson had plenty of faith in the fact that her sister would in fact, help take care of any injury that she may obtain from anything that she might do that others might consider rather stupid. Even if Arabella was saying the opposite of this Emerson simply grinned at her sister before picking up the dropped packaged sandwich. "So what're you doing here dear sister?"
Oh yes, Emerson was going to make sure to play the whole inoccent and would never do anything wrong little sister role. Stuffing the sandwich bag back into her pocket she sighed softly at the thought of the swished sandwich and shook her head a bit. Before she turned her attention back towards the Hogwart's healer and grinned up at her once more. "So? Doing anything interesting out here?" Emerson never pegged her older sister as the sort who would aimlessly wander around in the Forbidden Forest, oh no, not unless she had some sort of reason behind it. So Emerson figured she might as well attempt to bring the attention away from herself and back towards Arabella.

She jumped down from the tree and Arabella wondered if it hurt. It would, she imagined. Her sister appeared to be in a rather upbeat mood. Arabella couldn't imagine why. If it had not been her who caught Emy, Ara didn't think her sister would have gotten off without a deduction of points or detention. As it was, Ara didn't think she was entitled to do either of those things. Besides, if she could, the blonde didn't want to deduct points from Ravenclaw. She was a former Ravenclaw and she did like to see her house do well. Instead of replying Emy, Arabella sighed. “This is an odd place to have a picnic, Emy.” She told her.
“I was getting some plants for a potion.” Ara finally replied the question that was posed to her. “It's not very interesting, unless you want to become a Healer. Do you want to be a Healer?” She asked. “Please don't get into some dangerous career where I might have to...” Arabella spoke, before pausing suddenly. To attend her funeral. Which hit a little too close to home for her, considering how she'd just attended her husband's funeral months ago. “Well, you know what I mean.” She said briskly, before looking at the redhead. “Come on, let's go back to the castle.” The blonde said.
“And while we're walking back, you can tell me why you thought that coming into the Forbidden Forest was a good idea. Because it's not. The other day, Titus ran out of the Hospital Wing and scared the wits out of me because I couldn't find him. Not that I'm comparing you to a two year old boy who is hyper active.” She said, smiling slightly at Emerson. She wasn't the oldest of their siblings, but Arabella worried the most. It only intensified after she became a mother. She voiced out most of her worries though, so people comforted her. Or laughed at her, depending on how crazy her worries were.

She grinned, shaking the red hair from one side to the other as her head did much the same. "Oh I dunno if its odd, I mean its much better then just sitting around in the great hall," Shrugging Emerson studied her sister's features for a moment and smiled more so, the differences between the two, Emerson was sure people would question how Arabella and herself were blood related. But hey, Emerson sort of liked watching the surprised look on people's faces as they realized that, besides she knew Arabella was her big sister, and on top of that she was definitely someone Emerson could look up to. Which was one of those reasons as to why Emerson would do her damnedest to make sure that Arabella, along with her brothers would never find out just who the other half of her was.
Emerson bit back an honest answer, she knew very well the impact the death of her sister's husband had been, she'd of course attended to funeral of her brother-in-law. Though in all honesty the thing that Emerson did want to do had to deal with dragons, whether it be a care taker of them or simply watching over abandoned eggs and working on taming them, a Dragonologist was definitely her ideal job. But, of course that came with more than enough risks and was probably the sort of job that Ara didn't want Emerson going into. "Don't worry Ara, I think healing is quite fascinating," even if it was something she would really go into, not unless she wanted to really sit down and focus in on charms and learn all the different herbs in herbology. Neither of those things really seemed all that appealing to her, even if she'd mastered both of them, or at least at the skill level she was at she had anyway.
Emerson rose a brow as she listened to her sister give her what Emerson often called one of her shortened lectures, a sort of mother thing to do. Which she guessed was expected of Arabella, namely because Titus was her son, making her a mother. "Doooon't worry Ara, I promise I wasn't doing anything wrong." At least, this time she wasn't. It was something that Emerson was very thankful for at the time, even more so because it would only cause more trouble for her if the other side had been exposed. "Well, Titus must take after his totallly awesome, thrill seeking aunt." Emerson picked up her feet to keep up with her older sister, as she lightly joked and winked a bit at the blonde. "Not that I would ever condone him simply disappearing because he wanted to or anything like that," and that much was true. Emerson always wanted to make sure that her nephew was safe and sound, and she knew for a fact that the safest place he could be was with his mother.
