Zara had found an empty classroom and had pushed open the door to make herself at home. In her hand she clutched a letter that had messy scrawl all across it. A letter from her father. A letter from her father saying she was not welcome to come home anymore. She was surprised that he had even managed to write the letter. How could he tell her not to come home? She helped him with everything! Though, apparently her interfering ways had taken its toll and just like he did not recognize his son, he would no longer recognize her.
She took a seat at a desk and sighed. The letter now crumpled and sitting on the table. Her Dad was so volatile she wondered whether if she went home for Christmas he would kick off or wouldn’t even remember the letter that he had sent. Z pushed the sleeve of her left robe up and her fingers ghosted over the thin scar that ran along her arm. Sometimes she thought Jason had had the right idea. That leaving the family was so much easier than trying to save a lost cause.
Jason. She’d write a letter to him and see his opinion on the matter. Of course, his response would be to leave and come and live with him. That was what he had been saying for years now. Zara pinched the bridge of her nose trying to relieve some stress.

It was quite annoying how Skylar's face appeared whenever he tried to concentrate. How she told him she loved him. He tried to get that thought out of his mind when he walked the second floor corridor. It wasn't everyday that someone said they loved him. Certainly not someone his own age. He sighed, passing several girls who looked at him. He glanced at them, before sighing again. Their break up had been public enough. There were enough people in the library that rumours had spread about them speaking to each other. Surely there were other break ups and getting togethers for the other students to talk about? One that he thought might make people forget about him and Skylar were the Ravenclaw and Slytherin foursome. Sleeping with each other's best friends? Or something along those lines.
As he was contemplating that particular rumour, he spotted Zara entering a classroom. He looked at the entrance to the classroom for a few moments, considering whether to follow her in. After all, he didn't think anyone ever used that classroom. And who went into empty classrooms? People who wanted to be left alone. When Thaddeus reached the door, he poked his head into the classroom. He saw a parchment on the table in front of Zara. The parchment had certainly seen better days. The dark haired girl was pinching her nose. “Nooo, Zara! Don't try to kill yourself by shutting off your oxygen!” Thad yelled out, in a high pitched tone of voice. Of course, he didn't normally speak like that. But hey, if it could get a smile or even a laugh out of Zara, he'd gladly do it.

Zara who had been sitting there with her thoughts in an utter jumble jumped out of her skin when she heard the high pitch voice. She’d been quick to draw her wand until she had looked over and clamped eyes on Thad and heard what he had said. A grin broke out on her face. ”Dammit Thad, you always wreck my plans.” Zara tould him and gave him a pout before motioning for him to come and join her. It had been a while since she had seen him.
Of course, there had been whispers around the castle about goings on with students but Zara had paid very little attention to them and if Thaddeus had any news to tell her he would do so in his own time. ”How have you been my lovely?” Zara asked him. She pulled down her sleeves and stuffed the piece of paper into her pocket. For now she wasn’t going to deal with it.
