James has a very broad outlook towards clothes. Considering he has to be in school robes most of the year, he prefers to be in jeans, low neck t-shirts and a jacket every now and then. Like almost any other person his age, he dislikes having too diverse a taste, and prefers having a steady set of clothes.
Distinguishing Marks: A small scar on the back of his right hand; a memento of his first Quidditch match.

Personality:
James likes nothing better than to share a laugh with his friends. He has trouble taking most mundane things such as exams or detentions. This of course gets him into a lot of tight spots, but considering his family had gotten entangled in far more crazier things, teachers were not in the least surprised when a tongue tying spell flew around, or a doorknob was transformed to a roaring lion head.
However, what does make James lose his temper is when people bad mouth his friends, or cheat in Quidditch or dueling. He is extremely easy going, and makes friens very easily. However, he has a problem putting his trust a hundred percent in a lot of people. His very close circle of friends are comparatively much fewer in number, and he only confides in those people.
Although he is very proud of what his parents have done, it has also placed a huge load of responsibility on himself. He has so far not bothered very much to keep up the family name, but he has always been aware of what was expected of him, and also knows that he will have to face the issue sooner or later.

General History:
Godric Hollow being the sleepy little place that it always was, James was brought up with more freedom than most wizards could afford to give their children. His parents were careful, but not very over protective of what he did, so there were the usual incidents of cat-tail-pulling, owl treat mishaps and wand stealing.
Because his father was so busy with his work at the Auror Office, James spent most of his time playing with his toy broomstick, while his mother wrote Quidditch analyses. He liked to chase dragonflies around the house (birds being out of reach), since all nearby neighbors were wizarding families. He looked forward to Sundays most of all, when his father would take him flying on his old Firebolt.
As soon as Albus was born, James began to spend most of his time around his little brother, constantly thinking up new ways to annoy him. But once he did save Albus from a vicious rat, so it may be assumed that underneath it all, James did love his little brother. Because most of his truant energy was spent on Albus, James was quite docile towards his little sister Lily, and did not cause his mother quite as much reason to confiscate his broomstick as punishment.
Things went on quite normally till he was eleven, and then he received the letter that gave him chills. For the first time, Albus was the one doing the teasing, and James was merely concentrating on trying not to go green every time he thought of the Sorting. Despite assurances that all Houses were equally good, he wanted to continue in Gryffindor, just like his relatives the Weasleys had been doing for generations now.
It had been easier than he expected, and the boat ride to the castle turned out to be more nerve wracking than the actual sorting itself. The name had drawn more whispers than he found comfortable, but he soon mingled with the populace fairly well, attracting and annoying people at the same time with his many pranks. He had soon lost fear of Filch and his chains, though he was ever careful to plot his mischief without the cantankerous caretaker around.
Even he was forced to take up his books when it came to the OWLs, and he aced Transfiguration, getting Es in all the other subjects save for Astronomy and History of Magic. Then again, he did not even consider them to be part of his real education. Because he still could not decide upon a career path, he merely chose the remaining subjects to continue for his N.E.W.Ts, hoping to eventually stumble upon one career or another.
With his seventh year around the corner, James decided to make the last year at Hogwarts his most memorable one so far.
