"Your meter must be broken," He chuckled softly, "You'd to best to get that checked, Madmousielle. It could get you into trouble." Frederick misconstrued Charlize's own awkwardness as her being uncomfortable around him, and opted to switch the topic somewhat. He leaned down, slipping her arm over his shoulder and allowing his hand to flicker unsurely at her waist for a moment before it settled in what he hoped wasn't an untoward manner.
Remaining slightly bent over to allow the witch to stand unobtrusively at her own height, he glanced over at her, "Is this alright? Let me know if any adjustments need to be made," and with the, Fred ventured a few steps, trying to lead the other professor into a semi-comfortable gait. He made a soft humming noise as he considered her question before responding, "Well, let's see. Considering my age of twenty eight, accounting for the amount of years since I became a secret hallway vigilante, taking into effect leap years and holidays and with a variable amount for the time I've spent in my classroom and not out in the hallways, I'd say it's safe to estimate the number of damsels I've saved as..." there was a moment as he seemed to calculate, "...You." He made her laugh. He had made her laugh much more than anyone else had in a rather long time and it lifted a weight inside her. ”I shall trust my judgement. It’s done me well for 11 of my twenty four years.” It had done her well because she generally tended to stay away from men. Her school relationships had been short lived. Her marriage had been a business deal. And Geoff wasn’t even worth a mention since he had dropped off the face of the Earth. He had left her and the school. ”If it does however appear to be incorrect in my assumption of you I shall make sure to hex you the first instance I understand that you are a creep.” She wouldn’t of course. She would merely distance herself from him.
Fred was soon beside her and helping to support her. ”Yes, that’s fine.” Charlize told him. She held onto him gently as he pondered over her question. A smile came over her face. ”Once again, I apologize for dragging you into my misfortune.” She the glanced up at him before saying, ”Just for the record, Monsieur Flynn, you make a pretty good, and dashing, hero. If you don’t mind my saying so.” Maybe she was letting sleep take over her and it was drivel coming from her mouth but none the less it was out there.

"Well, that's thirteen years counting against you," he raised both brows, giving her a dubious look, "therefore I suppose I'll prepare for a hex. I'll look forward to it the best I can." He flashed a smile to her as he continued to lead her toward her office, skipping the odd step or two in the process which he knew would throw them back into their previous situation- maybe even snagging Char's other ankle. Wouldn't that be a treat, "I don't mind, Madamousielle. I've never been bothered by helping people, really."
His toothy smile diminished somewhat in the face of her compliments, a slow blush creeping up his neck. He really was unaccustomed to any sort of flirting, and unpracticed in having people pay him compliments; his mind fumbled with its response. " I don't mind it," he chewed the inside of his lip again, nervous habit, "But you mustn't toy with my emotions- I may very well take you seriously. Wouldn't that just be the worst? I'd simply never leave you alone," he attempted to play it off as though the woman were joking with him. Honestly, he thought that she was just trying to be kind.

”Well I was not an expert at the age of 3.” Fred’s smile made her return the gesture. Smiling was infectious, as was laughter. ”I promise I will not cause too much damage.” Chaz told him. She leaned her weight against him slightly more in order to take weight off her ankle. Heading down the stairs was more painful than when they walked on flat ground. ”You are a kind person.” Charlize felt like kindness was a rare quality to find in people these days. People seemed to be too busy looking after themselves.
When Fred’s smile shrunk away Chaz felt an embarrassed blush in her cheeks. Apparently trying to be forward was not a good thing for her. Not with Fred. And then he told her he didn’t mind and she felt slightly less awkward. ”I could think of worse things that could happen.” she mumbled more to herself than to him, but considering the hallway was empty he had probably heard her. ”Anyway, I did mention earlier about breaking that four hour and twenty three, was it, minute record.” Chaz told him. She was looking down at her ankle as they walked.
Chaz was curious about Fred. More curious than she had been when they had first met. Internally, and it her state of slight drowsiness, she was debating on asking to be able to speak with him more or her usual instinct of staying away. Somehow her usual instinct was being silenced.

He smiled softly at the compliment, still slightly ablush- a few moments passed before he could find a proper way to respond to that; He opted for an old French saying, in hopes that it would mean a bit more than it's English counterpart, "Qui sème le vent, récolte la tempête." Frederick continued to lead her down the hall before adding, "In the least, I try to keep that philosophy. I've yet to see it come to it's full effect, but one never knows."
”Anyway, I did mention earlier about breaking that four hour and twenty three, was it, minute record.”
Those words crashed into Fred like a bus, along with the realization that Charlize actually was flirting with him. As the pair rounded the corner and her office came into view, he decided to man-up and do what his proper upbringing taught him to do; ask the nice lady out on a date, forgoing her having to do so. Not that the problem had actually occurred much in his adolescence- but the point remained he'd been taught how to handle it. Now, if he could just get the gall.
"Pardon if you find me forward," he cleared his throat, "Or slap me, if you find that more to your liking." He shifted slightly, looking over at her and noting her averted gaze, "But, I hear that dates are a pretty good way to kill approximately four hours and twenty-three minutes...You know, if you wanted. As I mentioned, slapping is an option." The tall professor continued to watch her in attempt to gauge her reaction to his suggestion, still chewing the inside of his lip nervously. ”Your French is very good.” Charlize commented. The proverb was one she had heard before and one that she actually liked. ”I’m sure you see it come in to full force at some point. Good things come to those who wait.” Charlize reminded him. She was still waiting. Chaz just hoped in her case she wouldn’t be sixty by the time her good thing came around.
The hallways were finally familiar as they continued to walk and Charlize eventually realised that they were on the floor of her office. She was thankful that they were here. She needed to do something about her ankle before she actually dropped into bed. Maybe somewhere in her trunk there was a pre made potion. If that was the case it would make things a lot more simple for her. They had reached her office and Chaz took her weight off him and moved toward the door . She was still not looking at him properly.
At the word ‘dates’ she looked up at him. The words sunk in and Chaz was blushing again along with a small smile creeping onto her face. ”You’re right dates are a pretty good way to spend time...” She reminded herself that the last date that she had set up with a colleague had lead to her being stood her up and she had spent the weekend across the water fumbling her way through a foreign, though very friendly, Irish community. Despite that thought nagging in her mind Charlize gave him a nod and said, ”I would like that.” she confirmed verbally. ”So there’ll be no need to slap you.”

"I've got a bit of a bent for languages," Frederick chuckled as they stopped, gazing slightly down at her. He inconspicuously checked his watch, tired. It wasn't even that late; maybe he'd get to sleep at a decent hour after all. A few more rounds after he dropped Charlize off, and then things should be under control, he supposed- The next shift would be up and he could be gone.
Honestly, he didn't realize he'd been holding his breath until she responded; at which point he exhaled in relief. He had actually been waiting for a slap, not finding it to be a completely ridiculous reaction to having Fred Flynn hit on you. When she gave him a positive confirmation, he almost did a little dance- no accounting for the fact that he did not, never had, and never would have any skill in that particular area.
"Splendid," his face cracked into a wide smile as he reached out, opening the door for her. "I'll contact you on details for that soon. I'm still in shock, so now wouldn't be a great time to be figuring that out." As he pulled his hand back from the door- one still holding it open, of course- his newly freed one caught Charlize's. With a slight bowing gesture he brought it up, very lightly pressing a kiss to her knuckles, "Bonne Nuit, Madamousielle." And with that, our hero let go, blushing profusely as her turned to leave; he couldn't believe he'd actually just done that. Any of it.
[/blockquote] Tags;;Charlize Notes;; Bonne Nuit- Goodnight. OH FRED, YOU LADY KILLER, YOU. Also, if you wanted your next post to end this, that'd be fine. If you had oher things you'd like to add, though, feel free. I'm good either way![/color]

She watched as he exhaled. His nervousness made her feel more at ease, since she was not the only one who seemed to be just taking a swing in the dark with her words and actions. Charlize once again returned his smile as he told her splendid and opened her office door. She moved into the door frame a little. ”I’ll look forward to hearing from you about it.” In honesty she was in shock to. The woman couldn’t quite comprehend in how being stuck had ended up with her gaining a date. There were no complaints though. Maybe her luck was going to turn around, but she would not count her chickens yet.
When Fred kissed her hand the blush flooded back and gave his hand a very gentle squeeze before letting go. ”Goodnight Monsieur. Sweet dreams.” Fred was off down the corridor and Charlize moved into her office and quietly shut the door behind her. She leaned against it for a few moments with the smile still on her face. It had definitely been an interesting night, that was for sure.
